My dissertation titled "Effectiveness of stress management strategies in IT sector" mainly deals with how stress affects the health of employees. Stress has become one of the most serious health issues of the 1990s and its impact is likely to continue well into 21st century. Stress is a condition arising from the interaction of people and their jobs and characterized by change within people that force them to deviate from their normal functioning". Stress is a state of mind. When the tolerance level is unable to cope up with he pressure, stress is produced. Factors such as increasing competition, corporate restructuring and downsizing have compelled employees to work for longer hours to meet deadlines. Organizations also try to generate more output from fewer employees in a shorter span of time. This trend pressurizes employees leading to negative consequences such as burnout, high turnover, aggression and stress. Work stress has become the latest corporate catchword and is a reason for genuine concern.

The questionnaire was divided into to 2 parts, part A consisted of 7questions designed to collect basic information about the respondent.
