Leadership is one of the most important aspects in every organization since the leaders oversee the development of the organization and also make decisions that are good for the organization. It is therefore important for a leader to have good leadership qualities if the organization or company that they work for is to make it in the industry. Sir Richard Branson is an example of a good leader having made his multi-billion empire from scratch and most importantly working in different industries and still managing to thrive in the different types of businesses. It is important to relate the different organizational theories and leadership theories to understand the reason behind the success of Branson as a leader.

[...] According to situational leadership there is no best method of leading but a leader must have a plan and stick to it to lead their company or organization. Branson leads his company through delegating and listening to his employees in order to be successful. He has stuck by this principle and encourages all the employees within the organization to make sure that they have stuck by their principles and qualities in order to succeed. In comparison to a leader like Steve Jobs who was the leader of Apple he is different in that he was involved in every aspect of the company. [...]

He is also fond of selecting the top management roles to people not based on their CVs but on their personality and as a result he recruits the members of his own team or the company. Sir Branson is a good predictor of the traits since he does not learn about a person from the information on the papers that they give but on the observable behavior and traits that he sees in people making them good workers for the company.
