Transport systems, non-coffee regions, administration officials and traders
The Santa Catarina western colonization zones formed from the 1916 newly arrived immigrants of Rio Grande do Sul spent to develop a natural and market economy in their small farms. However, his problem was the disposal of surplus produced. So these small producers depended on the craft-manufacturing development and / or export the surplus.
Such activities began to face problems related to the relatively high cost of transporting their products to the large consumer centers. Throughout the process of capital accumulation through the colony-sale system, the animals was used in business houses in troops and by railway.
Due to the shift from agriculture to supply the domestic market after 1930 Brazilian government, dealers of non-coffee regions, would use the train cars Railways under federal administration. These requests were made through agreements between administration officials and traders (oligopsônicos-oligopolies) from southern west (FONTANA, 1980). There is, therefore, that the modern means of transport was being cheapened by regular and easy granting requests to traders.
