Examples would include apps capable of automatically keeping a record of attendance, link time and place for appointments, deliver realtime feedback and many other perks. If these possibilities are used at their best, Human Resources can obtain a tenfold feedback from employees.
[...] "Along with the cost savings, we have a much more stable system and much more stable process in areas like payroll. And the benefit is that employees are really happy, particularly in our union environment". The example of the cooperation between Chiquita and Workday is just an example of how partnerships between industry and technical-managerial consultant firms can be extremely beneficial for output, cost limitation as well as for the management of personnel. The trove of data and the capacities of data cross-analysis made possible by new technologies are not even comparable with what traditional HR management had to offer. [...]

[...] According to him, the firm is now able to implement structural changes four months faster than before the innovations jointly done with Workday. Chiquita's cooperation with Workday started back in 2008, when the latter was hired in order to perform a restructuring of Chiquita's Human Capital Management, as well as its payroll and expense processes. By centralizing and digitizing Chiquita's recruitment program, and therefore cut the number of people necessary to perform the task, Workday's restructuring program permitted something between USD 1 and 2 million in savings, which is a very significant sum if the pre-restructuring costs are considered. [...] Having immediate access to information allows us to do that at the speed that our business moves." says Mr. Holland. With such a big workforce, keeping track of everyone's role was difficult before the restructuring, but thanks to the use of modern technologies, data-crossing and analysis has been made much easier: "For example, we have the ability to view a worker on a farm in Panama. We know his productivity. And we have a great sense not only of that particular individual, but how that information rolls up into the entire organization". [...]
