This document, discusses the situation of a large group (Accor hotels and services) that wishes to acquire a new company (the American hotel chain Motel6).
The study highlights the strategic motives of an acquisition, the various difficulties that may arise, and the actions that may accompany this change in terms of both the buyer (Accor,) and the company purchased (Motel6).
We will analyze how this acquisition may represent a strategic advantage for the Accor Group, and present a set of recommendations for the proper conduct thereof.
Accor is a European leader in the hospitality industry and tourism, as well as in business services. The group operates in nearly 100 countries with over 150,000 employees. Accor's business know-how is concentrated in two main areas – accommodation and services.
