The Security Solutions Industry is growing at an accelerating pace in the global scenario. As compared to few years back, the industry has shown considerable growth. However the industry is still in a nascent stage. There are few players in this segment – Honeywell being the leader in majority of the business segments.
Security Solutions finds market in business areas like Defense, Government, Commercial and Transportation, with Government still being the biggest buyer. Hence, it is high in cost and low in after sales service. Thus for companies like Honeywell, there is ample room for growth. Moreover, Security Solutions is migrating from a Security Provider to a Total Integrated Security Solution Provider. Gone are the days when Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm and Video Door Phones used to be the only modes of security providers. Today, Security Solutions companies provide security from Fire Alarm to Perimeter Fencing, Video Door Phone to Access Control, Biometrics to Burglar Alarm, Tracking to Video Surveillance or a gamut of all these products – an integration of services. Typically, there are products like Close Circuit Television (CCTV) Access Control, Biometrics, Intelligence Systems, Police Products, Perimeter Fencing, Tracking and a cohort of others. The Security Solution companies integrate and customize these products and services for its clients. However, there are a number of OEMs also who sell only the products.
Well-established companies are opting for total security solutions. This helps them not only in protecting their assets in the long term, but also to utilize it efficiently. These products and services can be integrated and customized for its clients – according to the requirement or usage. Software Security finds huge buyers amongst the IT players.
