The Works council was established in 1945 with the aim of involving the employees in the running of the company and establishing cooperation between employers and employees without undermining the authority of the entrepreneur, and thus increasing competiveness. The purpose of the works council was also to do away with the need for workers Unions, thus ensuring smoother communication.
The council promotes employment as well as important economic and social developments.
