To answer to that case, I selected the Mediator case which created a big sanitary issue in France in reason of the total immorality of the company which produced it; Servier's laboratories. Actually, for thirty-three years between 1976 and 2009, the drug was supposed to treat diabetes and so had logically received the permission to be sold on the market while its therapeutic efficacy has never been demonstrated . Moreover, for eleven years, between 1998 and 2009, this derivative of amphetamine continued to be sold on the market although all other drugs of the same family had been withdrawn from sale. Indeed, their use could cause pulmonary arterial hypertension and could lead to death of these patients.
