This report is about the relationship between China and Africa. It seems obvious that this report will deal with the strategy of penetration of the Chinese company on the African continent. Why is this Chinese company interested in African markets, and the factors that encourage motivation in this direction, while identifying the limits it faced on a daily basis? The answer will be detailed during the course of this report.
Established for over 10 years in Wuhan, a metropolis of over 8 million people in central China, Valley View China, is the economic center nationally specializing in optoelectronics technology and information. Indeed, the Chinese government has planned to create an ‘optical' Valley China (similar to the famous Silicon Valley) to develop industries related to this area.
FiberHome Technologies is a large government enterprise in the field of telecommunications, founded in 1974 under the name "Wuhan Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (WRI). The Chinese government has appointed FiberHome Technologies as the "National Center for Research in Engineering Fibre optic communications", the "National Research Center for Opto-Electronic Technologies" or the "Industrial Base National High and New Technologies Research and Development. 3 million dollars were invested in the construction of the 'optical' Valley of China.
FiberHome has now become a telecommunications company leading, well established in this valley of the perspective. This company is one of the basics of telecommunications technology to China and the service network with 33 offices and service center in 7 provincial regions and 23 provinces, covering the entire country.
This system is 3 levels of service agencies, and large regions, headquarters and engineering service groups, all ready to offer a personalized local service.
All this has fostered strong partnerships with intensive communication between the various national and international operators.
FiberHome specializes in research and development of communications technologies by fiber optics, also integrating the manufacture and marketing of these products. This is the only research entity and industry specializing in 3 types of optical technology strategic optical communication systems (routers and IP Communications), cables and fiber optic equipment and most opto-electronic devices.
Their main products: High-speed optical transmission bandwidth wide; System of broadband (high bandwidth) fiber optic; Network Routing Switch over IP system and IP; Provision of wireless telecommunication and power supply; Raw fiber and cable; Camera-mail.
FiberHome participated in the formulation of over 200 national and industrial standards, covering many areas of optical communication with more than 5000 employees.
FiberHome LTD has 29 offices and service centers across China, and has its own agents abroad. Its products are sold not only in China but also exported to many countries including the United States, Cuba, Germany, the United Kingdom and Cyprus. In 2001, its turnover has exceeded 2 billion yuan (about 200 million euros).
