The transportation network of society depends heavily on airport infrastructure, which also presents serious environmental challenges. Massive investments are required, according to COVID-19, to prepare for handling passengers from all over the world and to update and rehabilitate the outdated and inadequate airport infrastructure (Raimundo et al., 2023). The development and management of an airport have a significant influence on the environment, particularly when one considers that the aviation industry contributes significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions in addition to the effects of airport operations and construction (Raimundo et al., 2023). General sustainability, energy supply, greenhouse gas emission reduction techniques, air quality impacts, water management, ground transportation, sustainable building, and waste management are all included in airport sustainability.
[...] The value of the expansion option, which would increase the airport's total value, was projected to be 0.7 million euros for a single-stage investment and 1.3 million euros for a two-stage investment. Commercial revenues Another important aspect is the increased revenue generation with larger airports. This is a result of airports' growing reliance on commercial revenue to generate profits. Duty-free and travel retail have developed into very successful worldwide industries and are now a significant source of financing for airports (Spinks, 2016). [...]

[...] Airport traffic affects aircraft scheduling and operations (Uniting Aviation, 2017). In addition to causing delays, this might have a negative socioeconomic impact by reducing the number of destinations and aircraft frequencies. Capacity restrictions occasionally have a detrimental effect on airline competitiveness, which implies that congestion may raise the price of tickets (Uniting Aviation, 2017). Reduced air connectivity might potentially impede economic growth by impacting investment, tourism, and trade. If the necessary funds are obtained, all of these projects should eliminate barriers to the airport's ability to manage a rise in traffic (Uniting Aviation, 2017). [...]
[...] Technology Airport expansion also results in modernization, which includes better technology. Equipment that has been updated increases both efficiency and safety (Bates, 2019). For example, KONE escalators include a sleep mode/standby option that is meant to save energy and extend the life of units that are usually in use twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week (Bates, 2019). When the escalator is in standby mode, its speed is decreased until sensors at both ends identify approaching traffic and allow the unit to return to its full speed so that users can proceed. [...]
