Both Realism and Anti-Realism are movements in modern theater. Both have characters and plot lines. Both have the basic parts of plays. However that is about the extent of their similarities.
Realism is a theatrical movement where the writer tries to make the script and play reflect real life. Because Realism's goal is to have a likeness to real life the actors are not seen as representing a character, they are seen as being a character.
