Minorities are oppressed by cruel dictators, buildings are blown up without remorse, terrorists are hailed as heroes, and impoverished civilians are ignored and left for dead. At the moment, such global chaos seems to result from a lack of sufficient values—the value of education, the value of freedom, and the value of acting with humanity. Imagine if each aforementioned moral were instilled in the guiding principles of each nation, prevailing over the terrorism, neglect, and inhumanity that now dangerously threatens the quality of life every where.
[...] Though we took too long in entering World War II, our eventual participation ended a horrific bout of genocide and disabled the evil, inhumane Adolph Hitler. At that time, terrorism was occurring within Germany's borders from one citizen to another. In the end, the U.S. government was successful in implementing a democracy. To this very day, Germany still flourishes without the guidance of ethnic cleansing and remains a devoted ally to America. If we were to place governmental emphasis on helping Rwanda, perhaps the U.S. [...]

Although, they still have their major issues with human rights abuse, their position in the U.N. has opened them up to healthy international influence and the ability for the U.S. to keep a closer eye on them. Because we have supplied them with foreign aid, they are more eager to remain aligned with the U.S. and help out with our economy if we were to ask. Other nations may eventually follow our lead if we consistently display and encourage the values instrumental to national stability within other countries and exhibit that we do not intend to misuse our power. [...] The money spent on humanitarian aid will help establish diplomatic relations, directly and drastically decreasing the need for such an immense military budget. The bottom line remains that if we spend some money now, we will be spending less money in the future. Plus, we may have a new alliance on which to rely for economic help, though it may be very far down the line. However, we need long-terms goals if we are to successfully plan for the present. [...]
