There are several points to take into account when discussing artistic intervention.
First of all, the issues of durability, temporality, novelty and impact are extremely important to consider. Some artists believe that artistic interventions cannot be long-term artworks because it would stop shocking and touching people after some time, thus destroying the original goal of the piece of art.

The issue of legality is thus strongly tied with those of celebration, consideration and contestation of art. Furthermore, it is interesting to discuss about conformity and top-down/top-bottom approaches.
